About Say It Sushi
Say It Sushi is a free browser game for learning the Japanese you actually need at a sushi bar or restaurant in Japan. A plate rolls by with English on it, and you tap the right Japanese before it leaves the lane. There is no sign-up, and every phrase has kana, romaji and audio.

How the game and guides are made
- Game and music: original works made for this site. The music is generated in your browser.
- Voice: synthesized with VOICEVOX (VOICEVOX:冥鳴ひまり). It is not a recording of a native speaker, so use it to learn the rhythm, then listen to how people speak in Japan.
- Guides and phrase lists: drafted with the help of AI (Anthropic's Claude), then cross-checked against dictionaries and published sources in a separate AI research step before publishing. The operator, a native Japanese speaker, reviews the Japanese phrases and readings where possible, but not every article has been individually reviewed by a person.
- What we leave out: personal travel stories, prices and restaurant reviews. Where a detail depends on the shop (ordering screens, payment), the guides say so instead of guessing.
